So I've been going to the beach lately. People act really weird at the beach. Things are socially acceptable at the beach that would not normally be so. Seven cases in point:
1. People run around in their underwear (only their underwear).
2. People go around barefooted in public.
3. They lie on the ground for hours at a time. If you saw this anywhere else, you would call an ambulance.
6. People expose themselves for extremely long periods of time to the full rays of the sun. Apparently you shouldn't walk to your car without sun protection, but at the beach, it's just getting a tan.
4. Pets are allowed to roam free.
5. Children are allowed to roam free. In a crowded area, near and in a large, violent body of water of undetermined and unpredictable depth. For real, the beach is the worst place in the world to bring your young child.
7. The beach is the only place where it is socially acceptable to wear your underwear in public.
Yes, the beach is weird. People are weird. People at the beach are weird.
